Meet Your Coach

Chanavia Patterson is a native Detroiter that has devoted her career to serving in the educational capacity. Her work in Detroit did not go unnoticed.
During her tenure as Principal, she took a poor performing school to become one of the best schools in the city of Detroit. Developing a strong team allowed her to move the school from the bottom 8 in the state, to be one of the highest performing schools in Detroit. Chanavia and her team were recognized for closing the achievement gap at a rapid pace and in a short amount of time. Chanavia was named Michigan's Principal of the Year in 2017 by MAPSA (Michigan Association of Public School Academies). She had done something many thought could not be done. She did it. Over the last several years, Chanavia has been committed to coaching and consulting with women to help them transitioned their teaching. Many of them are now instructional coaches, assistant principals, and principals. She designed a framework that was the foundation of her success and propelled her to even greater heights. She has helped many women utilize this framework to transition their teaching, go from classroom to coach, or coach to a consultant.
